General Manager Dave was invited by TBSM (Taiwan Biomass and Sustainable Materials Industry Association) to give a speech at the TBSM 2023 Annual Meeting and Industry Exchange Seminar from December 19th. In response to the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), this year’s annual meeting also invited industry leaders to share their views on this topic. General Manager Dave shared from the perspective of the design industry how designers can help companies achieve sustainable development goals. He mentioned in his speech that the sustainability of a product is more than half the responsibility of the designer. The designer’s sustainable social responsibility is to use design thinking, starting from human-centeredness, combining green innovation, and consciously considering the impact on users, the environment, and society in the design process, creating more sustainable and socially responsible products. In addition, he also shared the technical research and development achievements of Zhengmei Group on sustainable design and design cases related to sustainable topics of industry customers. Through sharing the theme, he hopes to provide the industry with a direction for realizing sustainable development.
In response to the CBAM trial implementation and promotion of circular economy, TBSM invited Lin Zhicheng, Manager of ITRI Materials and Chemicals Research Laboratories, Jian Dawei, General Manager of Shinmay Innovation Research, and Huang Yukai, Deputy General Manager of Ming An, to share professional insights on tariff information, sustainable design, biodegradable materials, and circular economy. This provides an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of CBAM and related issues, and encourages participants to think about how to better achieve sustainable development and circular economy goals in the new policy environment.
